Anhui - Hunan 100-102

Hunan nipped Anhui on the road to take 2-0 lead. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 25-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Anhui outrebounded Hunan 50-33 including a 27-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Anhui was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Michael Holyfield (211-92, college: Sam Houston St.) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) supported him with 21 points and 6 assists. Five Hunan players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) did not help to save the game for Anhui. His fellow American import forward DeQuan Jones (203-90, college: Miami, FL) added 29 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Anhui's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.

Guangxi made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Shaanxi X. only scored seven points from the stripe. 27 personal fouls committed by Shaanxi X. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
