Anhui celebrate NBL title - Sep 4, 2016


Anhui clinched the NBL title. They beat Guizhou tonight to earn 4-1 victory in the championship series. Singleton Chris (206-F-89, college: Florida St.) posted 27 points and 10 rebounds to pace the winners. He was named the Finals MVP after the game.
Anhui jumped to a 31:27 lead ten minutes into the game. They maintained the lead throughout the second term. Anhui secured a 55:50 halftime lead. But Guizhou turned things around in the third term. They sank 29 points to gain a 5-point lead. But Anhui used a 16:3 run late in the game to snatch the decisive victory. Zhang YongGang (198-G-88) produced 18 points, while Shouwei Cun had 12 points for the champions. Burtt Steven (189-G-84, college: Iona) answered with 36 points for Guizhou. Costner Brandon (206-F-87, college: N.Carolina St.) banked in 33 points in the defeat.

North outgun South in NBL All-Star Game - Aug 1, 2016

North selection claimed victory in the NBL All-Star Game. They fired past South behind 29 points from Jones Emanuel (200-F-85, college: UTRGV). He was named the MVP.
South selection eked out a 44:42 lead after the opening quarter. North stepped up a notch in the second frame. They dropped 49 points to secure a 91:84 halftime lead. They maintained the lead throughout the third term. North entered the fourth quarter up by 6 points. They went on a strong 37:24 run in the fourth quarter to ice the win. Wilkerson Tyler (203-F-88, college: Marshall) provided 27 points, while Li QingXiang (189-PG-92) had 23 points for the winners. Melvin Marcus (206-F-82, college: N.Carolina St.) responded with 22 points for South. Singleton Chris (206-F-89, college: Florida St.) had 17 points in the loss.
