CBL Round 4: Leader Blue Thunder loses to Extra Joss F. - Jul 30, 2016

There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games and even winless team recording their first victory.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Blue Thunder (2-1) in Phnom Penh on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Extra Joss F. (4-0) 71-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Blue Thunder. Extra Joss F. have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Blue Thunder at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. Extra Joss F.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Phnom Penh to the arena Team Respeck.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Phnom Penh: Davies Paints (#6) and Bayon Airline (#5). Davies Paints (3-1) won against visiting Bayon Airline (2-2) 72-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bayon Airline. Davies Paints moved-up to third place. Bayon Airline at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Davies Paints' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Phnom Penh to the arena ALLN.

Smart Dragons were smashed at home by 25 points 45-70 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. ALLN have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record behind leader Extra Joss F. Smart Dragons lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with Mekong Tigers. ALLN's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Phnom Penh Davies Paints.

Team Respeck can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Phnom Penh, where they defeated Pinoy Rhythm (0-4) 52-44 on Wednesday. Team Respeck (1-2) left bottom position moving up to seventh place. It was Pinoy Rhythm's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost.
