2016 CBL to Tip off in June - May 13, 2016

Cambodia Basketball Federation today held an official press conference to announce the start of the 2016 Cambodia Basketball League. The conference was held at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia Secretariat presided by Secretary General H.E Vath Chamrouen and CBF Secretary General and League Commissioner Kao Kannaly. League Sponsor Angkor Beer was represented by Mr Soun Mishel, Assistant Marketing and Events manager with several media representatives in attendance. During the press conference, Mr Kao Kannaly announced that 10 teams are expected to take part in the League set to commence in Mid-June and following the first round robin games, the Playoffs will be best of three. The top prize for the winner would be $3000 dollars while the first runners up and second runners up will settle for $2000 and $1000 respectively. Teams are expected to register with sum of $500.

Cambodia bounced back from their day 1 defeat to Vietnam to Trash Brunei 101-34 in game 2 of the FIBA Cambodia Friendship Game at the Indoor hall of the National Stadium. It was huge relieve for Coach Austin Koledoye tutored side after failing to rise to the occasion in the opening game on Friday losing 62-63 to Laos. Brunei to send team for Cambodia basketball meet - 21 days ago
BRUNEI Basketball Association (BBA) will represent the country in the Cambodia Friendly Game from December 27-30 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The tournament, which focusses on youth participation aged below 20 years, will see teams from Laos, Vietnam and hosts Cambodia participating. The Fiba Organized U20 Friendship Game got under way today at the Indoor Hall of the National Stadium as Cambodia failed to rise above their Counterparts From Laos losing 62-73 in the opening game.
