Mekong Tiger Wins Game 1 of CBL Finals - Sep 6, 2015

What a Game it was at the Indoor Hall of the Olympic Stadium as Mekong Tiger and Extra Joss Fighters Clashed in the Finals of the 2015 CBL. The Fighters took the Game to the Tigers from the start drawing the first blood and opening a 15-7 lead but the Tigers came back to level scores at 15-15 to signal their intent not to let go easily. Fighters ended the first Quarter with a 2 point lead 19-17 however at half time it was the Tigers who were in front. The Fighters Came back in the 3rd quarter looking to open up the gap but the Tigers got their game plan well set up as Matt VP raised his game and shot 3 consecutive 3 pointers to open a 7 point lead. Stephen Relampagos Siruma and Jomar Santos continue to inspire the Fighters and with 32 seconds left on the Clock, Tigers were down by 1 point at 79-78. Matt Vp turned the tie in favour of the Tigers from the free throw line and at the other end Edmer Pansoy leveled scores to 81-81. Ravuth had the chance to win the game from the free throw with 11 seconds to go after Serrano fouled him but missed both shots. With Possession with Fighters and 11 seconds on the clock Jomar drove and missed his lay up to extend the match to OT. Mekong Tigers came out smoking in the 5 minutes OT and banged in 3 points after 3 points from Dareth Pheng and on the other end Fighters continued to draw blank as the clock wind down and the Tigers triumphed 97-84. Earlier on, Davies Paint defeated last year's finalist Pate 310 82-74 to clinch the 3rd Place Playoffs.

Prompt start to basketball season in doubt - 7 months ago
Uncertainty surrounds a prompt start to the Cambodian Basketball League season on Saturday following the Federation's inability to find sponsors for the fifth edition in the wake of Angkor Beer pulling out this year. ALLN Supermen win CBL Finals - 2 Years ago
ALLN Supermen win CBL Finals tonight. They overcame Extra Joss fighters 80-55 to end the fighters unbeaten run. In the game for the third place Bayon Airlines posted a 68-66 win over MSGM. Only due to the final 23-13 push in the last stanza, Bayon managed to seal the victory. Bayon Airlines won the Bronze medals.   [read more]
