JIS emerge as champions in interschool basketball tournament

Team Jerudong International School (JIS) cruised to an easy win in the final of Aewon PPE Interschool Basketball Tournament by beating St Andrew’s school team 100-58 to emerged as the champion of the boy’s category. Playing in front of a full house, Jaron On of JIS had an impressive scoring night with 21 points while teammates Gerald Phua and Adam Lee each added 17 points and Nicolas Yap 14 points. Muhammad Zarif of St Andrew’s School had 16 points while Chung Siang and Blair Kwan contributed 12 points each. In the third place playoff, Chung Hwa Middle School Bandar Seri Begawan defeated International School Brunei 86-55. Acting Director of Co-Curriculum Education Department at the Ministry of Education Julaihi bin Mohamad/Mohamat, and Aewon Brunei Managing Director Lau Chai Seng presented the prizes. Also in attendance was President of Brunei Basketball Association Jake Goh.
