Low San Brunei Basketball Open to tip off tomorrow

Basketball fever is set to grip the town as the Low San Brunei Basketball Open 2019 makes its return at the Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) Basketball Court in Batu Bersurat tomorrow. Since its re-inception in November 2017, Low San Brunei Basketball Open has been viewed as one of the major competitions in the domestic scene as teams and the country's top basketball names battled it out for top honours. Fourteen teams have registered for the ToolBox Men Open of the Low San Brunei Basketball championship which is set to tip off tomorrow at the BBA Basketball Court in Batu Bersurat. YTE Bestar Enterprise, Brupay, Setia Warriors, Jing Chew and Jedstar are in Group A while Fitness Zone Juramas, OSP, Toolbox and Readymix are in Group B. Group C comprises Aewon, Systematic Living, TM Basketball, Linktech and BT & KL. The teams will vie for honours and total cash prizes of BND1,500. The Veteran Low San Shield have attracted the participation of eight teams while three teams will compete in the Women Sherwin William cup. For the Veteran Low San Shield, TK Tea House will gun for a double following their triumph at the You-C 100 Fuzhou Cup but hot on their heels will be GHK, Old Stars and DHJ A-Amas in Group A. Digimark will find competition in the form of Veteran United, Menglait MBA and Burger King in Group B.
The Women Sherwin Cup will see Systematic Living, Shehoops and Shehoops JR in the hunt for perfection and in turn the title. Tomorrow night, Menglait MBA will take on Burger King in the Veterans Low San Shield category (Group B) while Group A participants DHJ A-Amas will face off against TK Tea House at 9pm. With more than 60 games to be played, Low San Brunei Basketball Open is scheduled to be played until December 14. Everyone are invited to enjoy the games and there will be no admission fees. This highly anticipated annual basketball tournament is organised by the BBA, with Low San Hardware as the main sponsor. The official sports drink of the tournament is Revive, sponsored by Kingston Beverage & Creamery Sdn Bhd. The Low San Brunei Basketball Association made a comeback two years ago after a long absence and the tournament was hosted again last year.
