YTE face Setia Builders, Easyway meet FZ-Juramas in basketball semis

YTE basketball have a chance to extend their unbeaten run as they face Setia Builders in the first semi-final of the YOU C-1000 Phase II Basketball Championship at the Brunei Basketball Association (BBA) Court in Batu Bersurat tonight. Phase I champions of the tournament FZ-Juramas will go against another strong contender Easyway in the second semi-final. In the final group stage match on Wednesday night, Easyway's Charles Pepito and Yap Jenn Chyuan scored a combined 35 points to power their team over Setia Builders. Setia Builders' import John Tang Jun Kai had a huge scoring night with 28 points, but was not enough to overtake Easyway.
In the other match, FZ-Juramas disposed off Systematic Living 85-79. Local player Kevin Tay scored 30 points including seven three-pointers for FZ-Juramas, while his teammate Mike Parala contributed 15 points. Ma Chee Kheun scored 21 points and Jensen Soh had 13 points for Systematic Living. The first semi-final will tip off at 7.15pm and 9pm for the second semi.
