YTE Basketball emerged victorious in the Under-23 RYS Cup Basketball Tournament 2018 after defeating Master G Collection 78-72 in the final match at the New Village Basketball Court, Seria on Wednesday night. With both teams starting strong, it was YTE who managed to keep a three-point lead by the end of the first quarter, followed by another five-point lead after the second period. Unfazed by the strong performance of YTE Basketball, Master G Collection managed to close the gap to 57-51 at the end of the third period. However, YTE proved too strong for Master G having managed to keep their lead from the first quarter until the final period to win the tournament. Master G Collection finished second. In the loser's bracket, Chung Hua Middle School Kuala Belait (CHMS KB) 'B' bested Brunei Darussalam Sports Schools Council (MSSBD) 75-66 to finish third. CHMS KB 'B' dominated the game from the first quarter, although MSSSBD kept their fight until the end having able to score more points in the final period. Organised by the Belait District Basketball Association, the tournament saw six teams participating namely Master G Collection, CHMS KB 'A', CHMS KB 'B', Q-Techline Services, YTE Basketball and MSSSBD.
