Swingman Makoto Hiejima (191-G/F-1990) was tied for the best scorer of the day in the world with the 30 points he had in the Basketball Champions League Asia. His excellent performance made his team Tochigi Brex edged the Al Riyadi 94 to 93. He grabbed 9 rebounds and got 5 assists that game. He also represented Japan at the Fiba Olympic Games in Paris (France) last year. Among many awards he won the Japanese B League championship title in 2022. Hiejima was selected to the AsiaBasket All Japanese B League First Team back in 2017, 2018 and 2020 as well as All Domestic Players Team back in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2022.
