Basketball Champions League Asia round 6 best performance: Chris Johnson (by Hoops Agents)

American Power forward Chris Johnson (210-F/C-1985) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked New Taipei Kings, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 39-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Hitech (#3, 2-3) 88-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Kings to take over top position in the Basketball Champions League Asia. Kings have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 90.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kings' top player in his first season with the team. Chris Johnson averages this season 17.2ppg and 8.2rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Kings' star - young Nigerian Michael Efevberha (195-G-1984). Efevberha had a very good evening with 39 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for New Taipei Kings to edge slightly lower-ranked Hitech (#3, 2-3) 88-82. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kings consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 4 matches. Efevberha is a newcomer at Kings, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.2ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 4.8rpg and 3.2apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Michael Singletary (198-F-1988) of Hitech Bangkok City (#3). Singletary showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Singletary's great performance the Hitech lost 82-88 to #1 ranked Kings. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Hitech ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Singletary could help Hitech to bring them higher in the standings. Singletary has a great season in Basketball Champions League Asia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (7th best) and assists with 4.2apg (8th best). Singletary attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
