Regular Season Round 15: LG Sakers - KCC Egis 85-81

No shocking result in a game when second rankedSakers (14-5) beat 8th ranked Egis (6-9) in Changwon 85-81 on Thursday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. LG Sakers made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-1997) accounted for 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American Alize Johnson (206-1996, college: Missouri St.) came up with 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Joon-Young Choi (200-1994) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for KCC Egis in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sakers . LG Sakers maintains second place with 14-5 record having just two points less than leader Wonju DB. Loser Egis keep the eighth position with nine games lost.
