Regular Season Round 1: Al Ittihad - Al Naft 79-72

Syrian Al Ittihad defeated Iraqi Al Naft in Aleppo 79-72. Al Ittihad outrebounded Al Naft 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. Al Ittihad looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Will Brown (213-1997, college: Fayetteville St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Ken Brown (180-1989, college: Philander Smith) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Al Ittihad players scored in double figures. American forward Antwaine Wiggins (203-1988, college: Charleston) answered with 27 points and 5 assists and center Ali Hameed (208-1984) added 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Al Naft. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
