Regular Season Round 5: Shinshu BW - Nagoya DD 64-72

Rather predictable result in Nagano where first ranked Nagoya DD (6-1) beat 4th placed Shinshu BW (2-4) 72-64 on Saturday. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 49-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brazilian-American center Tim Soares (211-1997, college: Master's) stepped up and scored 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international guard Yutaroh Suda (190-1992) chipped in 14 points. American Stanton Kidd (202-1992, college: Colorado St.) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and American-Ivorian power forward Deon Thompson (204-1988, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nagoya DD have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Despite that victory Nagoya DD went down to second position due to points difference. Shinshu BW lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Nagoya DD will meet at home league's leader Alvark Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shinshu BW will play again against the league's second-placed Nagoya DD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
