Kuwait trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 59-67 at the end of the game. American swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-1992, college: St.John's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Mustafa Rashed (177-2002) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Point guard Hamad Hasan (191-1997) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds and Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-1992, college: UMass) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kuwait. Kuwait's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
