The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked KoGas' (16-29) road loss to eighth ranked Wonju DB (17-24) 78-81 on Saturday. Strangely KoGas outrebounded Wonju DB 52-32 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Ethan Alvano (185-1996, college: CSUSM) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Jongkyu Kim (207-1991) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Alvano is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Wonju DB's coach Sang-Bum Lee allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Devon Scott (206-1994, college: Dayton) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 23 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Dae-Sung Lee (192-1990, college: BYU-Hawaii) scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Wonju DB and four KoGas players scored in double figures. Wonju DB maintains eighth position with 17-24 record. Loser KoGas keep the ninth place with 29 games lost. Wonju DB will meet at home higher ranked Goyang (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KoGas will play against Goyang (#5) and hope to secure a win.
