Regular Season Round 32: Seoul Knights - Seoul Thunders 115-113
Date: February 16, 2023
Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Seoul Thunders (12-29) were edged on the road by fourth ranked Seoul Knights (24-18) 115-113 on Thursday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Seoul Knights shot 61.5 percent from the field and had 29 for 41 from the free-throw line, while Seoul Thunders only scored twelve points from the stripe. Seoul Knights looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) who scored that evening 43 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Sunh-Yung Kim (187-1988) supported him with 29 points and 13 assists. Even a double-double of 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by American center Darral Willis (205-1996, college: Wichita St.) did not help to save the game for Seoul Thunders. The former international point guard Si-Rae Kim (179-1989) added 23 points and 5 assists for the guests. Four Seoul Knights and five Seoul Thunders players scored in double figures. Seoul Thunders' coach Sang-Min Lee rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 24-18 record. Loser Seoul Thunders stay dead last with 29 lost games. Seoul Knights will meet at home league's leader Anyang in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Seoul Thunders will play against Goyang (#5) in Daegu and hope to secure a win.
