Regular Season Round 10: Singapore S. - Louvre S. 147-89

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Indonesian Louvre S. (1-10) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Singapore Singapore S. (7-4) 147-89 on Wednesday. Singapore S. dominated down low during the game scoring 94 of its points in the paint compared to Louvre S.'s 50. They outrebounded Louvre S. 50-34 including a 41-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Singapore S. shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 46 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Louvre S.'s players. American swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) had a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 13 assists (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Xavier Alexander (196-1988, college: S.Nazarene) chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists during the contest. Five Singapore S. players scored in double figures. At the losing side French center Alioune Tew (204-1992, college: Niagara) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and American-Indonesian Jamarr Johnson (198-1988, college: Widener) scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Singapore S. maintains fourth position with 7-4 record. Louvre S. lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Tigers. Singapore S. will meet bottom-ranked Tigers (#8) in the next round. Louvre S. will play against Valientes in Zamboanga City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
