Regular Season Round 10: NS Matrix - Saigon Heat 96-86

The biggest surprise took place in where host Malaysian NS Matrix (9-2) beat league's leader Vietnamese Heat (8-3) 96-86 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Heat. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was dominated by American players. Center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Isaiah Williams (188-1995, college: Georgia St., agency: BIG) chipped in 24 points and 5 assists. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. NS Matrix's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and JR Holder (198-1994, college: Jacksonville) added 30 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. NS Matrix have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending Malaysian champion keeps a position of league leader. Defending Vietnamese champion Heat dropped to the second place with three games lost. They share the position with HK Eastern. They were replaced at the leadership position by NS Matrix. Heat will play next round against Macau trying to make it back to the top of the standings. NS Matrix will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Macau on the road.
