Not a big story in a game in Inchon where 9th ranked KoGas (13-24) were defeated by second ranked LG Sakers (25-14) 108-102 on Wednesday. LG Sakers made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-1991) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists. American forward Murphy Holloway (201-1990, college: Ole Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Dae-Sung Lee (192-1990, college: BYU-Hawaii) added 19 points and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. LG Sakers maintains second place with 25-14 record having just two points less than leader Anyang. KoGas lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 24 games lost. LG Sakers will meet at home bottom-ranked Seoul Thunders (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KoGas will play against Seoul Knights and hope to secure a win.
