Regular Season Round 28: Seoul Knights - LG Sakers 72-75

A very close game took place in Seoul between LG Sakers and Seoul Knights. Second ranked LG Sakers (24-14) got a very close victory on the road over 4th ranked Seoul Knights (21-17). LG Sakers managed to escape with a 3-point win 75-72 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Seoul Knights. The winners were led by Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists and Filipino guard Kwan-Hee Lee (190-1988) supported him with 20 points. Even a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds by American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) did not help to save the game for Seoul Knights. The former international guard Sunh-Yung Kim (187-1988) added 20 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. LG Sakers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-14 record having four points less than leader Anyang. Defending champion Seoul Knights keep the fourth place with 17 games lost. LG Sakers will meet KoGas (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Seoul Knights will play against Mobis Phoebus (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
