Regular Season Round 27: Suwon KT - LG Sakers 80-81

Eighth-ranked Suwon KT (16-19) made lots of trouble for second ranked LG Sakers (22-13) in Busan on Sunday. The visitors from Changwon managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected much easier game. LG Sakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-1991) helped adding 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-1997) with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Hungarian-American power forward Jarrod Jones (207-1990, college: Ball St.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Suwon KT players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. LG Sakers maintains second place with 22-13 record having just three points less than leader Anyang. Suwon KT at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 19 games lost. LG Sakers will meet at home Wonju DB (#6) in the next round. Suwon KT will play against KoGas in Inchon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
