Regular Season Round 6: Louvre S. - Tigers 84-88

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Surabaya where 7th ranked Indonesian Louvre S. (1-6) was defeated by bottom-ranked Thailand Tigers (1-7) 88-84 on Sunday. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jose Nouchanthavong (187, college: S.Maine) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Takamin Sirijariyaporn (181-1997) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Nouchanthavong is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Tigers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American Marcus Hammonds (196-1987, college: TAMUCC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and American-Indonesian Jamarr Johnson (198-1988, college: Widener) added 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Tigers maintains eighth position with 1-7 record. It was Louvre S.'s fifth loss in a row. They keep the seventh place with six games lost. Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Louvre S. will play against Singapore S. (#4) and hope to win that game.
