Regular Season Round 5: Louvre S. - NS Matrix 67-104
Date: January 13, 2023
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Malaysian NS Matrix (3-2) crushed 7th ranked Indonesian Louvre S. (1-4) in Surabaya 104-67 on Friday. NS Matrix forced 21 Louvre S. turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Louvre S.'s players. American center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) nailed 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import center Amir Williams (211-1992, college: Ohio St.) accounted for 28 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Four NS Matrix players scored in double figures. American Marcus Hammonds (196-1987, college: TAMUCC) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American-Indonesian Jamarr Johnson (198-1988, college: Widener) added 19 points respectively for Louvre S. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Malaysian champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Singapore S. and Zamboanga. Louvre S. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with four games lost.
