Ginebra Kings rallied past Bay Area Dragons to take the lead in the championship series. Ginebra Kings dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bay Area D.'s 34. They outrebounded Bay Area D. 53-30 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ginebra Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners and naturalized German forward Christian Standhardinger (206-1989, college: Hawaii) chipped in 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-1989, college: St.Bonaventure) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds and British-Canadian guard Glen Yang (193, college: Mount Royal) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
