Regular Season Round 12: LG Sakers - Seoul Knights 98-100
Date: December 3, 2022
Important game to mention about took place in Changwon. Seventh ranked Seoul Knights (8-10) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-best LG Sakers (10-8) 100-98 on Saturday evening. Strangely LG Sakers outrebounded Seoul Knights 40-24 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Seoul Knights especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Sunh-Yung Kim (187-1988) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 assists and American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) supported him with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds by Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) did not help to save the game for LG Sakers. American forward Dante Cunningham (203-1987, college: Villanova) added 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Seoul Thunders. LG Sakers at the other side keep the second position with eight games lost. Seoul Knights' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Seoul to the arena Seoul Thunders.
