Regular Season Round 9: Seoul Thunders - KCC Egis 72-78

Seoul Thunders (#5) were upset in Seoul by eighth ranked KCC Egis 78-72. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Guna Ra (203-1989, college: Missouri) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. The former international guard Woong Heo (183-1993) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four KCC Egis players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Marcus Derrickson (201-1996, college: Georgetown) who recorded 18 points and center Weon-Seok Lee (203-2000) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KCC Egis maintains eighth place with 5-8 record. Loser Seoul Thunders keep the fifth position with eight games lost. KCC Egis will meet higher ranked Mobis Phoebus (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Seoul Thunders will play against KoGas and hope to secure a win.
