Regular Season Round 7: Ittihad - Al Fateh 78-76

Important game to mention about took place in Jeddah. Sixth ranked Al Ittihad (4-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Al Fateh (5-2) 78-76 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Fateh. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Charles Rhodes (203-1985, college: MSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. Tunisian point guard Omar Abada (189-1993) accounted for 26 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Algerian forward Mohamed Harat (198-1990) came up with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Mohammed Alsaqer added 12 points and 12 assists respectively for Al Fateh in the defeat. Al Ittihad have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al Hilal. Al Fateh at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Ohod. Al Ittihad will play against Al Ansar (#11) in Medina in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Al Fateh will play on the road against Al Wehda (#7) in Mecca and hopes to get back on the winning track.
