Date: April 3, 2022
There was a minor upset when 7th ranked LG Sakers (24-29) lost to ninth ranked KCC Egis (21-31) in Changwon 68-74 on Sunday. KCC Egis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-1989, college: Missouri) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 22 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Jung-Hyun Lee (191-1987) supported him with 16 points and 8 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Even 8 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists by Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) did not help to save the game for LG Sakers. KCC Egis will meet higher ranked Mobis Phoebus (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. LG Sakers will play against DB Promy in Wonju and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
