Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Pioneers' 30 and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Pioneers 40-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guandong Tigers shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-1986, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 27 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import Ricky Ledo (201-1992, college: Providence) chipped in 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-1991, college: Florida) responded with 28 points and Zikai Meng (205-1996) scored 22 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
