Regular Season Round 34: Samsung Th. - SK Knights 74-98
Date: February 13, 2022
KBL top team - SK Knights (31-8) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Samsung Th. (7-30) in Seoul 98-74. They outrebounded Samsung Th. 50-31 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when SK Knights made 7 blocks. American center Jameel Warney (203-94, college: Stony Brook) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international Joon-Young Choi (200-94) supported him with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Five SK Knights players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds by American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Samsung Th.. Center Weon-Seok Lee (203-0) added 14 points for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SK Knights have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 31-8 record. Samsung Th. lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 30 lost games. SK Knights will meet league's second-placed Mobis Phoebus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Samsung Th. will play against KoGas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
