Regular Season Round 34: Samsung Th. - LG Sakers 77-90

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Samsung Th. (7-30) lost to eighth ranked LG Sakers (18-23) in Seoul 77-90 on Saturday. LG Sakers dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Samsung Th.'s 36. They outrebounded Samsung Th. 50-36 including 20 on the offensive glass. LG Sakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: MSU) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Seung-Woo Lee (192-1) supported him with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Five LG Sakers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Samsung Th.. The former international forward Dongseop Lim (198-90) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. LG Sakers moved-up to seventh place. Samsung Th. lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 30 lost games. LG Sakers will meet at home higher ranked Goyang Orions (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Samsung Th. will play against KoGas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
