Regular Season Round 27: Goyang Orions - Samsung Th. 76-70

Not a big story in a game in Daegu where 10th ranked Samsung Th. (7-26) was defeated by fifth ranked Goyang Orions (17-17) 76-70 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Samsung Th. outrebounded Goyang Orions 36-20 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for international center Seung-Hyun Lee (201-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Ho-Bin Han (181-91) helped adding 13 points and 5 assists. Goyang Orions' coach Byong-Chul Kim used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Si-Rae Kim (179-89) with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Nigerian forward Daniel Ochefu (211-93, college: Villanova) scored 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Samsung Th. players scored in double figures. Goyang Orions maintains fifth place with 17-17 record. Samsung Th. lost their fourth game in a row. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Goyang Orions will meet higher ranked Anyang KGC (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samsung Th. will play against LG Sakers (#7) in Changwon and hope to secure a win.
