Regular Season Round 27: Goyang Orions - KoGas 87-83

There was no surprise in Daegu where 8th ranked KoGas (14-19) were defeated by fifth ranked Goyang Orions (17-17) 87-83 on Saturday. Goyang Orions looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Ole Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Dae-Sung Lee (192-90, college: BYU-Hawaii) helped adding 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Goyang Orions players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) with 27 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Kyungmin Doo (184-91) scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Goyang Orions maintains fifth place with 17-17 record. KoGas at the other side keep the eighth position with 19 games lost. Goyang Orions will meet higher ranked Anyang KGC (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KoGas will play against the league's leader SK Knights (#1) in Seoul and hope to secure a win.
