Regular Season Round 27: LG Sakers - KT Sonicboom 85-70

Very important is a road loss of second ranked KT Sonicboom (21-12) against sixth ranked LG Sakers (16-19) on Saturday night. Visiting KT Sonicboom was defeated by LG Sakers in Changwon 85-70. LG Sakers outrebounded KT Sonicboom 41-25 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: MSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Filipino guard Kwan-Hee Lee (190-88) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Jeong-Won Jung (178-93) answered with 15 points and Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-92, college: UMass, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for KT Sonicboom. Four KT Sonicboom players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory LG Sakers went down to seventh position due to points difference. KT Sonicboom lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the second place with 12 games lost. LG Sakers will play against bottom-ranked Samsung Th. (#10) in Seoul in the next round. KT Sonicboom will have a break next round.
