Regular Season Round 16: Al Fateh - Al Hilal 77-100
Date: January 17, 2022
SBL top team - Al Hilal (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Al Fateh (8-8) in Al Hasa 100-77. Al Hilal made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Al Fateh only scored six points from the stripe. Al Hilal looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by international center Mohammed Alsuwailem (211-98) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Antwan Scott (185-92, college: Colorado St.) supported him with 27 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Four Al Hilal players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds by Algerian forward Mohamed Harat (198-90) did not help to save the game for Al Fateh. The former international point guard Mohammed Al-Saqer (179-85) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Hilal have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Loser Al Fateh keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Al Ansar. Al Hilal will meet at home Duba Club (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Fateh will play against Abha (#12) and hope to secure a win.
