Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Hitachi Cougars (6-9) lost to fourth ranked Eneos S. (14-3) in Hitachinaka 60-74 on Saturday. Eneos S. outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 46-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. The former international center Kadysha Umezawa (190-98) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Saori Miyazaki (167-95) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Eneos S. players scored in double figures. Eneos S.'s coach Kiyomi Sato used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Aya Tsurumi (165-92) came up with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese center Daramee Malem-Doi (187-97) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Hitachi Cougars in the defeat. Eneos S. moved-up to third place. Hitachi Cougars lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Chanson V-M. Eneos S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitachi Cougars will play again against Eneos S. (#3) and hope to secure a win.
