Regular Season Round 20: Anyang KGC - LG Sakers 80-86

The most important game in the last round took place in Anyang between third ranked Anyang KGC (14-10) and ninth ranked LG Sakers (11-15) on Monday night. Anyang KGC was defeated by LG Sakers in a tough game at home 80-86. LG Sakers shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: MSU) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-91) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. Four LG Sakers players scored in double figures. American Omari Spellman (207-97, college: Villanova) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists and international guard Junhyeong Byeon (186-96) added 15 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Anyang KGC's coach Seung-Ki Kim rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. LG Sakers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place. Defending champion Anyang KGC keeps the third position with ten games lost. LG Sakers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Anyang KGC will play at home against DB Promy and is hoping to win this game.
