South Korea
Regular Season Round 20: SK Knights - Samsung Th. 84-78
Date: December 25, 2021
No shocking result in a game in Seoul where second ranked SK Knights (17-8) defeated bottom-ranked Samsung Th. (6-19) 84-78 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jameel Warney (203-94, college: Stony Brook) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Joon-Young Choi (200-94) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Nigerian forward Daniel Ochefu (211-93, college: Villanova) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and American Thomas Robinson (208-91, college: Kansas) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SK Knights have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-8 record behind leader KT Sonicboom. Samsung Th. lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 19 games lost. SK Knights will meet at home KoGas (#5) in the next round. Samsung Th. will play against Mobis Phoebus (#6) in Ulsan and hope to secure a win.
