Regular Season Round 13: Al Salam - Al Hilal 72-100

SBL top team - Al Hilal (13-3) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Al Salam (4-9) in Al-Awamiyah 100-72. Al Hilal dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Al Salam's 44. They outrebounded Al Salam 51-36 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Hilal looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Antwan Scott (185-92, college: Colorado St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. International center Mohammed Alsuwailem (211-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Al Hilal players scored in double figures. Al Hilal's coach Stratos Koukoulekidis felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Nick Stover (198-93, college: USA) answered with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Algerian center Touhami Ghezzoul (209-87, college: N.Dakota St.) added 11 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Al Salam. Al Hilal have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-3 record. Al Salam lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with nine games lost.
