Regular Season Round 12: Al Hilal - Al Ansar 104-84

Leader Al Hilal delivered the twelfth win on Friday night. This time they crushed 7th ranked Al Ansar (6-6) 104-84 in Riyadh. Al Hilal shot 61.5 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Al Ansar turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Al Hilal looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Antwan Scott (185-92, college: Colorado St.) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. International center Mohammed Alsuwailem (211-98) chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Al Hilal's coach Stratos Koukoulekidis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Armenian center Todd OBrien (211-89, college: UAB) who recorded 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Ayman Belal added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Hilal (12-2) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Al Ansar at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Al Hilal are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Abha (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Al Ansar will play against Abha (#12) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
