Regular Season Round 12: Yamanashi QB - Toyota BSR 52-73

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Yamanashi QB (1-9) was crushed at home by ninth ranked Toyota BSR (4-8) 73-52 on Sunday. Toyota BSR dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 22. They outrebounded Yamanashi QB 44-23 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toyota BSR looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Baiq Ghua (185-92) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Yuki Kato (179-97) who added 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Nago Mizuno (171-94) with 13 points and 4 assists and swingman Marii Watanabe (177-97) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Toyota BSR moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Aishin AW. Yamanashi QB lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Haneda V.. Toyota BSR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yamanashi QB will play against Niigata R. (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
