Regular Season Round 11: Yamanashi QB - Toyota BSR 50-93

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Toyota BSR (4-8) smashed on the road 11th ranked Yamanashi QB (1-9) 93-50 on Saturday. Toyota BSR dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 26. Toyota BSR forced 20 Yamanashi QB turnovers and outrebounded them 42-31 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Yamanashi QB's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Toyota BSR made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was international swingman Nanako Todo (175-0) who scored 15 points. The former international Yuki Kato (179-97) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Toyota BSR players scored in double figures. Forward Aimi Wakahara (171-96) produced 9 points and guard Honoka Tsuchida (165-97) added 4 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota BSR moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Aishin AW. Yamanashi QB lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Haneda V.. Toyota BSR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yamanashi QB will play again against Toyota BSR (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
