Regular Season Round 13: Anyang KGC - LG Sakers 69-84

The game between third ranked Anyang KGC (9-6) and tenth ranked LG Sakers (6-11) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Anyang KGC was defeated by LG Sakers in Anyang 84-69. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Anyang KGC. They outrebounded Anyang KGC 46-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. LG Sakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: MSU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Filipino guard Kwan-Hee Lee (190-88) chipped in 23 points. Four LG Sakers players scored in double figures. LG Sakers' coach Sung-won Cho used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Omari Spellman (207-97, college: Villanova) responded with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and point guard Park Jihoon (184-95) scored 7 points and 5 assists. LG Sakers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place. Defending champion Anyang KGC keeps the third position with six games lost. LG Sakers are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Samsung Th. (#10) in Seoul in the next round. Anyang KGC will play at home against DB Promy (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
