Regular Season Round 9: Eneos S. - Niigata R. 95-56

Very expected game in Kashiwa where bottom-ranked Niigata R. (0-12) was rolled over by third ranked Eneos S. (8-1) 95-56 on Saturday. Eneos S. made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game, while Niigata R. only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Niigata R. 51-26 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Eneos S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Niigata R.'s players. The former international center Kadysha Umezawa (190-98) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (193-91) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The victory was the third consecutive win for Eneos S.. They maintain third place with 8-1 record behind leader Denso I. Niigata R. lost their twelfth game in a row. They still close the standings with 12 games lost. Eneos S. will again meet at home bottom-ranked Niigata R. (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Niigata R. will play against Toyota A. in Nagoya and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
