Regular Season Round 11: KT Sonicboom - LG Sakers 89-80

Very expected game in Busan where 10th ranked LG Sakers (3-11) were defeated by second ranked KT Sonicboom (9-5) 89-80 on Sunday. It was a great evening for international guard Hoon Heo (181-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-97) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five KT Sonicboom players scored in double figures. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: MSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and forward Hee-Jae Jeong (195-89) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. KT Sonicboom maintains second place with 9-5 record having just one point less than leader SK Knights. Loser LG Sakers stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. KT Sonicboom will meet Mobis Phoebus (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. LG Sakers will play against the league's leader SK Knights and hope to secure a win.
