Regular Season Round 7: LG Sakers - SK Knights 85-88

Tenth-ranked LG Sakers (2-7) gave a tough game to first ranked SK Knights (7-2) in Changwon. The visitors from Seoul managed to secure only three-point victory 88-85. However their fans expected much easier game. SK Knights outrebounded LG Sakers 46-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. LG Sakers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American center Jameel Warney (203-94, college: Stony Brook) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. The former international Joon-Young Choi (200-94) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four SK Knights players scored in double figures. Filipino guard Kwan-Hee Lee (190-88) came up with 29 points and Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-92, college: MSU) added 16 points and 12 rebounds respectively for LG Sakers in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. SK Knights have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-2 record. LG Sakers at the other side stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. SK Knights will play against league's second-placed KT Sonicboom in Busan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. LG Sakers will play on the road against KCC Egis (#7) in Jeonju and hope to get back on the winning track.
