Regular Season Round 4: Toyota BSR - Denso I. 72-82
Date: October 31, 2021
Bottom-ranked Toyota BSR is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their second consecutive match to top-ranked Denso I. (4-0) 82-72 on Sunday evening. Denso I. shot 60.8 percent from the field. Denso I. outrebounded Toyota BSR 40-19 including a 25-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by the former international center Maki Takada (185-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and the former international center Sakura Akaho (184-96) supported her with 19 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Even 11 points and 6 assists by guard Miki Sakamoto (164-94) did not help to save the game for Toyota BSR. Miki Sasaka (178-98) added 13 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Denso I. have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Toyota BSR still closes the standings with two games lost. Denso I. will meet Niigata R. (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Toyota BSR will have a break next round.
