No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Samsung Th. (4-5) beat 8th ranked Anyang KGC (4-4) in Seoul 78-67 on Tuesday. Samsung Th. outrebounded Anyang KGC 39-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The former international forward Dongseop Lim (198-90) notched 11 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Nigerian forward Daniel Ochefu (211-93, college: Villanova) supported him with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Samsung Th. players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 6 assists by international guard Junhyeong Byeon (186-96) did not help to save the game for Anyang KGC. The former international center Sek-Eun Oh (200-87) added 16 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Samsung Th. went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with KCC Egis and KoGas. Defending champion Anyang KGC dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Samsung Th. will meet at home higher ranked Goyang Orions (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Anyang KGC will play against KT Sonicboom in Busan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
