Regular Season Round 1: Al Ahly - Duba Club 88-60

Al Ahly used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Tabuk 88-60 on Friday night. Al Ahly outrebounded Duba Club 51-32 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Canadian-Jordanian guard Fadi Ibrahim (190-96, college: Tampa) nailed 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 9 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winning side and international center Naif Althalabi (203-96) accounted for 10 points and 14 rebounds. Al Ahly's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian Otas Iyekekpolor (203-96, college: Fort Lewis) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Syrian forward Wael Jlilaty (199-90) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Duba Club in the defeat. Al Ahly will meet Ohod in the next round. Duba Club will play against Al Nahda and hope to win that game.
